Information for Parents

Parents are the cornerstone of any child's education. We need parents to be involved in the day to day operations of the schools. The school has several committees and booster organizations that are focused on making the school a highly productive, wonderful place to be.

Things to Remember

1. Be a role model for learning.

a. Our attitudes towards education cane inspire theirs and show them how to take charge of their educational journey.

b. Learn something new yourself. Let them see you as a learner too.

2. Read every day with Your Child!

a. Books, labels, newspapers, signs, instructions, etc.

b. Ask them to tell you about what they read.

3. Practice what your child learns at school.

a. Don’t drill and kill, but review the basics.

b. Make connections to everyday life with math, science, social students, and English Language Arts.

4. Attendance

a. Students need to be on time every day.

b. Try to make appointments for after school or non-school days.

c. Vacation during breaks only.

5. Homework, Projects, Tests

a. Do I know when they are?

b. Are they being completed and turned in?

c. Ensure good study habits and routines

6. Communication

a. 3 – way (school, parent, student)

b. Your teacher is only a phone call or e-mail away.

c. Set up a conference.

7. Involvement

a. Research indicates that when parents are involved in their child’s education and school, student achievement increases.
